J.D. Challenger was set forth on his art career after he showed his paintings to a Native American holy man who told him, "Your path is to tell our story and educate others." Challenger was raised in Oklahoma where he learned to paint through his observations of nature and the customs of the Native Americans. He gathered his inspiration from the friendships he sealed with his Native American neighbors and made it his life's work to follow the words of the holy man and to tell the story of the Native Americans.

Clifford Beck was an award winning Navajo Indian artist. He was a full time artist from 1979 until his death in 1995. He worked primarily as an illustrator, a photographer, and an art teacher. His preferred media were oil and pastel. He attended the University of Northern Arizona and the California College of Arts and Crafts. Beck's work has been widely published in magazines and newspapers and it has been documented in numerous Indian Art books.

Frankie C. Nez is a full-blooded Navajo from Arizona.
He comes from an artistic family and started drawing when he was about seven.
Over the years he developed and refined his craft and has become a versatile and talented Navajo Indian artist.
He skillfully works in a wide variety of media such as ink, color pencil, water color, and bead work.
He also carves Kachina dolls and makes tomahawks.
Nez does anything that comes to his imagination.
He is well-known for his intricate details and exact, symmetrical compositions featuring traditional Navajo designs.
Nez's work has been seen and sold throughout the southwest, in Mexico, and beyond.
His inspiration mainly comes from his observations of life on the reservation.
