The bead work looks to me to be of fine quality - nice and even bead design.

The term Peace Pipe is a white man's term,
and were called Calumets by the Native Americans, named after Calamus...the "stalk" or "reed".
It is properly referred to as the Sacred Pipe.
The pipe bowl commonly was carved from hard wood, molded from clay or carved from red pipestone called Catlinite.
Other stones such as Sandstone, Soapstone, hard stones such as Granite, Quartzite and Steatite were also used.
The Peace Pipe has long been known by the White Man as a token of peace and treaties...to seal an agreement.
Probably, though no person knows for sure, the first time the "peace pipe" term was used was when a peace treaty was being signed.
The pipe would have been used to seal the bargain and the white man would likely have referred to it as a pipe of peace.
There are Calumets for sacred and ceremonial purposes, and public arrangements.
The Sacred Pipe is not generally used for public gatherings.
Intentions could often be told by how the stem was carved or decorated with feathers, when smoked.
Both Bowl and Pipe designs may be simple or elaborate, and may be carved from stone, horn, antler, bone or wood.
Crow Indian Vintage 1920s Beaded Artifact Dancer Leggings
These Crow Indian Vintage Beaded Artifact Dancer Leggings are highly collectible artifacts.
These leggings, we have estimated, were made during the 1920s.
These fine dancer leggings were hand made from genuine Buckskin Leather for soft,
natural textures.
And, it features some soft cotton fabric.
The fronts of these leggings feature some of the most impressive seed bead work I've ever seen.
Each seed bead has been intricately hand stitched
to create traditional Native American Indian designs.
These leggings have some wear and missing beads due to the age.
(can be seen on the pictures)
These great artifacts are each 15-1/4" by 16-1/4".

The objects man makes are called artifacts, and every artifact, whether it is beautiful or ugly, crude or refined,
utilitarian or ceremonial, is a reflection and product of man's skills, his techniques, his arts.
Artifacts reflect the ideas, the concepts, and the knowledge acquired or learned as a member of a tribe.
